Signing of several agreements between Benin and Qatar through the Minister of Foreign Affairs

HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Benin, Aurelien Agbenonci, and his accompanying delegation met on Monday with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, of the State of Qatar.

The meeting discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation and ways to develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing several issues of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, four agreements were signed between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Benin regarding investment protection and promotion, and the fields of culture, youth, and sports.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, signed, on behalf of Qatar, an agreement in the field of culture and an agreement in the field of youth and sports.

His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Trade, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, signed an agreement on the protection and promotion of investments and an agreement on economic, technical, and commercial cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of HE Benin, Aurelien Agbenonci, signed the agreements on behalf of the Republic of Benin.

The objective of these agreements is to exchange know-how in the cultural fields and to develop aspects related to youth and sports.

The signed agreements also aim to encourage and protect mutual investments, create a good investment climate between the two countries, create favorable conditions for investments, promote and protect these investments, and strengthen bilateral economic, technical, and commercial cooperation.
